Why this Year’s Newport Beach Restaurant Week is Set to be the Best One Yet

Your Travel Guide @ Beachview Vacations

April 15, 2021

Newport Beach is known for their exceptional cuisine. And the city’s annual Restaurant Week highlights the depth and diversity of its many restaurants with killer deals and pre-fixe meals all over the city.

It’s no wonder, then, that this annual event has grown in popularity and prestige at breakneck speeds. In 2020, the city raked in a whopping $4 million dollars during the event and this year, this food extravaganza shows no signs of losing momentum. Here’s why we think the upcoming 15th annual Restaurant Week is going to be SoCal’s food event of the year.

Reopened for Business

After a tough year for the restaurant industry, Newport Beach’s Restaurant Week commences at the perfect time. With local COVID-19 cases at an all-time low, Orange County has now entered California’s Orange Tier. This means indoor dining capacity can expand to 50% in addition to the city’s already-robust outdoor patio dining scene. And with these reopenings, more restaurants than ever are joining in on the Restaurant Week fun. From April 19th-May 2nd, you can take advantage of killer deals and pre-fixe menus at over FIFTY local restaurants! We’re already busy working up an appetite, because we have some serious eating on the horizon!

One App to Guide us all:

Another reason we’re so pumped for the 15th Annual Restaurant Week is because finding the best deals is now a no-brainer! Here’s Where We’re Digging in First

Thankfully Restaurant Week is actually two full weeks, because there’s just too many places to eat at in just seven days. But for folks who can only snag a day in town (poor you!), here’s our top three picks for the perfect day of dining during Restaurant Week.

  1. Breakfast: Drive into town via PCH and right along this iconic stretch is the beloved Cappy’s Cafe. Here you’ll get classic diner food with a California twist. For $24, you can start the day with a mimosa or Bloody Mary before tucking into egg’s benedict, a piping hot stack of pancakes, or a classic egg, bacon, toast trifecta. All this while being steps from the sand!
  2. Lunch: Continue down PCH to idyllic Crystal Cove and you’ll find The Beachcomber Cafe. A converted beach cottage right on the sand, this restaurant is as picturesque as it gets! And lucky us, they are serving up lunch for only $25 bucks! Be sure to sneak off to the tide pools that are mere feet from the restaurant and watch the crabs, snails, and cucumbers in their natural habitat. (Not for consumption, folks!).
  3. Dinner: After a day of eating and romping by the beach, it’s time to add a touch of class and elegance to the day at the Farmhouse at Roger’s Gardens. With a sprawling modern farmhouse-meets-greenhouse interior/exterior dining room, the Farmhouse serves only farm-to-table cuisine. And their Restaurant Week specials are no exception. For $55, we’re ordering the vegetable spring rolls followed by either the seared wild grouper or roast lamb shoulder. And for fun, we’ll also say yes to the citrus angel food cake topped with strawberries, pistachio, and white chocolate sauce, because, hey, you only live once!

And if you prefer to explore the seafood side of things or want more vegetarian vibes, check out the app for all of your Restaurant Week choices. Remember, this two week food festival is all about following your nose – and appetite! See you in town April 19 – May 2nd!
