The Ultimate Kid Free Weekend in Newport Beach
Your Travel Guide @ Beachview Vacations
July 2, 2021
Bye bye remote learning! The kids are headed back to school and we couldn’t be more ecstatic, because that means only one thing: a kid free getaway!
After playing teacher, tech support, and meal prepper, parents everywhere are overdue for some much needed R&R. And once school starts, there’s no reason not to call up a babysitter and head to Newport Beach ASAP for a kid free weekend!
That’s why we’ve taken the thinking out of your vacation-planning and have created an insanely perfect itinerary for a parents-only vacation that will make you forget all about carpool and laundry.

Unwind in a Picture-Perfect Vacation Rental on the Newport Beach Peninsula
First thing’s first: SLEEP. You’re probably deprived of it, so you have to make sure your accommodations offer premium comfort. Another thing to consider: convenience. If you stay on the peninsula, you’ll never have to even think about your car – the restaurants, shopping, and beaches are that close to each other! With these two factors in mind, we recommend booking one of the 1,400 vacation homes in Newport Beach. We have a few favorites that are extra romantic and extra cozy, because hey – mom and dad need some alone time!
Some of our favorite vacation homes on the Newport peninsula are 1-bedroom charmers – like these three romantic bungalows below!

Newport Beach Restaurants You Gotta Try Without the Kids
Have you even vacationed in Newport Beach if you haven’t eaten on the waterfront? All of the best restaurants in Newport are on the water, so why not tour them on an electric boat? An evening of docking and dining is the quintessential way to celebrate a weekend without the kids.
Unwind with happy hour at Lido Bottle Works, known for its impressive selection of wine and its amazing California cuisine. Next, captain your vessel to the other side of the harbor and enjoy the fare at The Winery Newport Beach. (The Crispy Kurobuta Pork Belly Lollipops are to die for!). End the evening at The Cannery, a romantic restaurant from top to bottom, from its classic exterior to its swanky indoor eating areas to its exquisite menu and drink options. No offense kids, but this is hands-down a parents-only evening.

The Best Activities to do in Newport Beach Without the Kids
When the kids are away, the parents will play! Pro tip: use this kids-free weekend to explore all of those unique, one-of-a-kind activities that your gaggle of rugrats would never want to do!
- Get up close and personal with blue and gray whales on a 7-person zodiac trip.
- Zoom into the Pacific on jet skis and frolic with the dolphins.
- Float through the harbor on a romantic gondola, sipping wine and swooning over the multi-million dollar mansions that line the water’s edge.
- Hop aboard the Catalina Flyer and explore Catalina Island for the afternoon. The picturesque town of Avalon, with its 1920’s casino and waterfront town, are what vacation dreams are made of.
Whether it’s adventurous mornings or romantic twilights, Newport Beach has everything you need for the most memorable couple’s weekend.
Pamper Yourself – You’re Kid Free!
With a weekend away from the kids, it’s almost criminal not to treat yourself to an hour – heck, a whole day! – of relaxation. And lucky you, Newport Beach is the epicenter of leisure.
We recommend the holy trinity: manicure, massage, and mimosa! Spa Gregorie’s is a favorite for all things pampering: massages, facials, body wraps, manicures, and hair care. It’s located right next to Fashion Island, too, so why not also add a shopping spree to the itinerary?
A Little Touch of Heaven is the other Newport go-to for high-end treatments of all kinds. Here you’ll find the latest facial styles and services, from LED to micro-current treatments. They’ll even customize a facial service based on your specific skin type. And may we add: it’s right next to Lido Marina Village, so a day of shopping and facials seems like the most sensible way to organize the day!
