Work and Study Remotely in Newport Beach
When you can work from anywhere,
why not work from the beach?

For many of us now, our jobs and our kids’ classrooms are located anywhere with a stable internet connection. Kitchen counters are now work spaces, school uniforms are now sweatpants, and our families are now our coworkers and classmates. This is the new normal, and we’ve done a pretty darn good job at adapting.

However, this new work-from-home culture has done us a disservice with its branding. Why work from home and we are now free to work from virtually anywhere? Do yourself a favor and change up your workspace with a Staycation at one of the most beautiful beach towns on the California Coast – Newport Beach.  Relocating your quarantine bubble is easier than you might think, especially in a town like this one, and your sanity will thank you.

Corona Del Mar

Tide pools with Catalina Island in the distance.

Take school outdoors
Running out of ideas to entertain your kids while they learn from home? You’ll be their favorite teacher with these fun and eye-opening activities.

  1. Visit the tidepools in Corona del Mar or climb the jetties to observe sea anemones, crabs, and sea cucumbers.
  2. Collect shells to use for a fun craft
  3. Fish off the pier
  4. Learn about the ocean’s tides and currents – extra credit for tracking them!
  5. Witness whales, dolphins, and sea lions in their natural habitat
  6. Explore the Back Bay natural preserve for California wildlife and plantlife
  7. Hold recess at Marina Park with its immersive and larger-than-life lighthouse

A FLEX-CATION; the opportunity for families with the flexibility to work and learn from anywhere to blend travel, work, school and play. (In Newport Beach, we call this living like a local and now you can too!

Work hard, play hard every day of the week…
Done with your day by 5:00? Here are some easy and accessible activities you can do by 5:15. And with Newport’s mild weather, you’ll be able to enjoy these outdoor activities all year long.

  1. Kayak or paddle board around Lido Island. It’s the perfect post-work workout!
  2. Bike along the boardwalk to the Wedge, a world-famous surf break
  3. Hike Crystal Cove for its panoramic ocean views
  4. Play games with the family on the beach. Horseshoes, volleyball, bocce ball, soccer, frisbee, paddleball, and Cornhole are always crowd favorites.
  5. Romp on the beach with your dog. Beaches are open to pets by 4:00p.
  6. Relax with an outdoor movie at the Newport Dunes every Friday/Saturday night
  7. Treat yourself to a delicious seafood dinner at one of the many restaurants in town with spacious outdoor seating

Take in miles and miles of Newport’s coast on a beach cruiser.
