Can’t Find a Vacation Home for Your Summer Getaway? Try Fall in Newport Beach!
Your Travel Guide @ Beachview Vacations
June 2, 2021
Summer 2021 is coming in HOT. Quarantine bubbles are popping right and left as folks are heading to the coast for some much needed R&R.
And while we’re all excited to reunite with friends and family, we’re seeing one unexpected consequence from all of this vacation elation: hotel rooms and vacation homes are booked solid! (Cue the frantic google searching and lukewarm Plan B’s, C’s, and D’s). But as lifelong locals of Newport Beach, allow us to be so bold as to say: stop the scrambling and book a fall getaway in Newport Beach. You won’t be sorry – trust us on this one!
Skip the Summer Vacation Rental &
Save Some Serious Cash
Pricing for hotel rooms and vacation homes fluctuate throughout the year, and summertime is – no surprise! – the priciest time to stay in a popular beach town like Newport Beach. But if you book a vacation home for dates after Labor Day, you can enjoy the same luxury and family vacation homes for a fraction of the cost you’d pay during the summer months.
Another advantage to booking a vacation home in Newport Beach for dates after Labor Day is that you’ll have greater flexibility on the length of your stay. During the summer months, it’s typical for most vacation rentals in Newport Beach to rigidly require a Friday-to-Friday or Saturday-to-Saturday stay. Not so in the Fall months! During the Fall months, you have the freedom to customize when and how long you’d like to stay in your rental.

September & October are Newport Beach’s
Best Kept Secrets
Don’t tell too many folks, but the weather in Newport starts to really get good come September. “June Gloom” lasts until at least 4th of July and then the weather slowly starts to warm up until it crescendos around mid-September. Arrive in Newport Beach in the fall, and you’ll have the whole beach to yourself! The waves are usually at their best during the fall months, too, much to the delight of us spectators who “ooh” and “ahh” at the surfers from the comfort of our beach chairs. And be sure to keep your eye open for humpback whales!
September and October are when these majestic creatures can be spotted right off our coast, migrating to the warmer waters of Baja. It’s worth a trip to Newport just to watch these giants in motion from one of the many whale watching boats in town. Long story short, you’ll find that once summer ends, Newport is still enjoying its endless summer, making it the perfect Fall destination for you and your family.

Postponements are Kaput!
Our favorite local events kick off again in the Fall
It’s been a long year and a half as our favorite local events have been cancelled and postponed due to COVID. But that’s finally behind us! Most of Newport Beach’s beloved annual activities have scheduled their comeback for – you guessed it! – September and October! Both the Newport Beach Wine and Food Festival AND the Pacific Wine & Food Classic are scheduled for the beginning and end of October. The Newport Beach Film Festival, which couldn’t take place this Spring, is now scheduled for October! The Newport Beach Jazz Festival is typically a summer event, but was pushed to October to ensure absolute safety for all of its guests. We’re personally looking forward to Newport’s annual Sandcastle Contest and Halloween Surf Contest, which are absolute, one-of-a-kind must-sees.
Newport Beach Wine and Food Festival: Oct 2-3:
Pacific Wine and Food Classic: Oct 23 & 24
Newport Beach Film Festival: Oct 21-28
Newport Beach Jazz Festival: Oct 8-10
Newport Beach Sandcastle Contest
So sure, you couldn’t snag a summer rental this year. But from where we’re sitting, you’re the winner in this equation. (The tortoise won the race, didn’t he?!). Just be sure to book a fall vacation rental ASAP, because once word gets out about the perks of September and October dates, we’re predicting a fall booking frenzy.
