Your Travel Guide @ Beachview Vacations
May 12, 2021
After the shutdowns of 2020 and the onslaught of cancelled flights, trips, concerts, and vacations, we’re ready to summer like we’ve never summered before!
And with Orange County now reopening its doors, we cannot wait to fill our calendars with these favorite family events that simply scream summer!

The Mouse is Back on the Map
It’s true! Disneyland is back in business! And now is arguably the best time in the history of Disney to visit the Anaheim parks. Until further notice, Disney is keeping Disneyland and California Adventure at 25% capacity, so you can enjoy all of your favorite rides and experiences without the long lines! And while the Disney hotels are still closed, you can book a vacation home in the neighboring Newport Beach. It’s the perfect setup: you’ll be twenty minutes away from the theme park and only steps from the sand! Now that sounds like the Happiest Vacation on Earth! Disney’s rules and regulations are still in flux, so be sure to check in with their website when planning your theme park/beach trip.

An Art and Food Festival Al Fresco
Laguna Beach’s Sawdust Festival has always been an outdoor experience – even before COVID protocols. And that’s what makes this event so special. Where else in the country can you comfortably enjoy the outdoors during the middle of summer? Well, in this beach town, you can stroll through an artisan village filled with displays and demonstrations ranging from glass blowing to metalsmithing all a stone’s throw from the Pacific Ocean. It’s an annual favorite for thousands of families and this year will be no exception! While you’re in town, be sure to check out the Pageant of the Masters, an equally extraordinary live performance where classic art pieces are staged by actors on a larger-than-life scale! Get your tickets to both the festival and the pageant for an unforgettable summer day!

Turkey Legs and Fried Oreos, Anyone?
You haven’t summered in Newport Beach unless you spend a day at the Orange County Fair! An extravaganza of rides, games, performances, and food is just 10 minutes from the beach. Dig into deep-fried delectables and gawk at the hypnotist’s victims obeying his every command or cheer on locals bands and dance crews or – if you’re really brave – shriek on one of the many fast and furious rides. There’s even a petting zoo on the premises and an outdoor amphitheater venue for summer evening concerts. All these favorites are finally off Zoom and happening IRL with masks and social distancing well in-place. We are so excited, we already have our tickets! Get yours ASAP!

Surf’s Up and the Groms and Gidgets are
Ready to Compete
California’s biggest surf competition is projected to return this summer, and we couldn’t be more excited! The US Open of Surfing is an event that cannot be missed. World class surfers compete by the Huntington Beach Pier while hordes of onlookers cheer them on. And let’s be honest, this event is a blast even if you don’t know a thing about surfing. Tons of booths and displays line the beaches, and crowds of people pass through to collect swag, spray-painted tattoos, stickers, and photo ops. Bring a bag of bathing suits and lots of sunscreen, because you’ll want to hang out all day, every day at this beachside competition.

Broadway’s at the Beach!
Newport Beach’s neighbor, Segerstrom Center for the Arts, is celebrating its reopening with the best of the best of Broadway! On the docket this summer are two Tony award-winning shows that are both must-sees: Come From Away and Hadestown. They both blew up Broadway with rave reviews and we’re pretty sure the OC crowds aren’t ready for this level of talent and entertainment. Experiencing this top-notch theater has never been cheaper either – with tickets starting at $28 bucks! We can’t wait to hit the town with friends and enjoy live theater for the first time in over a year! What a way to celebrate summer!
Come From Away June 21-26
Hadestown Aug 9-21
